FASTEST MAN ON EARTH- USAIN BOLT

Usain bolt proved himself as the fastest man on the Earth. He holds the record in 100 and 200 mts. Gritting his teeth and pointing to the clock as soon as the record flashed, Bolt is now 5-for-5 in major sprint events, winning gold each time with a world record.Usain Bolt extended his stunning domination in the sprints Thursday, adding the 200-meter gold to his tally at the world championships with yet another world record. His time of 19.19 slashed .11 seconds off the mark he set last year at the Beijing Olympics and came four days after breaking his 100 record by the same margin. "I was running my heart out," Bolt said. "I got my start right and that was the key. And when I got the start I knew was fine."Alonso Edward of Panama was second, a massive .62 seconds behind Bolt. Wallace Spearmon of the United States took bronze. After defending champion Tyson Gay had withdrawn injured, Bolt's main competitor stood beyond the finishing line — a huge track clock painted in the same colors as his Jamaican jersey.

Bolt's spirits got a boost before the start when teammate Melaine Walker added the world title to her Olympic gold in the women's 400 hurdles, another success for the Caribbean island with outsized performances at the championships.
His running was even better than his show. From Lane 5, he gobbled up all the opposition by the end of the curve, and then let those huge arms and legs loose in a whirl of unmatched speed. Once across the line, he stuck his tongue much like basketball great Michael Jordan used to. And in athletics, he now has the same exalted stature. He took off his yam-colored shoes, which had taken him though through eight races in six days, and he started celebrating on the eve of his 23rd birthday.

DELHI PLAYERS BACKS SEHWAG

A day after Virender Sehwag threatened to quit the Delhi Ranji team, he got support from his India team-mates Gautam Gambhir, Ashish Nehra and Ishant Sharma, who all came out openly in their fight against selection malpractices in the Delhi and District Cricket Association Sehwag had lashed out against the DDCA administration on Sunday.

On Monday, Gambhir and Nehra also threatened to opt for other states, along with five other senior Delhi Ranji players, including Aakash Chopra and Mithun Manhas if things are not resolved."I am absolutely behind Sehwag,There's a need to bring about transparency in the selection process. If things don't improve, I will not hesitate to move out of Delhi this year itself," Gambhir told ."I am in complete support of Virubhai. He's is absolutely right about selection issues, things can be much better," Ishant sharma said.

Nehra, meanwhile, said this was probably the DDCA's last chance to set things right. "The manner in which the DDCA functions, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to leave Delhi. I think this is the last chance for the association to clean up their mess. For two years, when I was injured, I didn't hear one word from anyone, and the moment I made my comeback, they are all looking to cash in on me," he said.

HURRICANE BILL STRENGTHENS

The hurricane was moving in a north-westerly direction, and on its current track is projected to turn north and largely miss the US coastline. An Air Force reserve hurricane hunter plane that flew into the Atlantic storm indicated "that Bill has strengthened and maximum sustained winds have increased to near 125 MPH," the center said in an interim advisory. That made Bill a Category 3 Hurricane on the Simpson hurricane scale. The Miami-based Hurricane Center said earlier that at 2100 GMT Tuesday, the hurricane was located about 635 miles (1,025 kilometers) east of the Leeward Islands and heading west-northwestward toward the US mainland at nearly 16 mph (26 kph).

The Atlantic hurricane season began on June 1 and ends on November 30.The hurricane's projected track is in the Atlantic, "well to the northeast" of the Caribbean's Leeward Islands. The Hurricane Center's extended forecast puts the far northeastern US coastline on the eastern edge of Bill's broad "cone of uncertainty" by Sunday. Tropical Storm Claudette, which blew up in the Gulf of Mexico on Sunday and lashed Florida resorts with strong winds and heavy rain, weakened Monday to a tropical depression as it moved across the southern United States.

Tropical Storm Ana, the first named storm of the season, also lost its punch as it moved quickly at maximum winds of 34 mph (55 kph) across the Caribbean, with all tropical storm watches discontinued in the region. In the Pacific, Tropical Storm Guillermo was moving northwest at about 20 mph (33 kph) at 0200 GMT Wednesday. A day after weakening rapidly from a hurricane, the storm was 570 miles (917 km) northeast of Hilo, Hawaii, according to the Central Pacific Hurricane Center

SWINE FLU VACCINE RACE

In India, the race is between three Indian biotech companies. The Pune-based Serum Institute of India seems best placed. It was already working on a vaccine for seasonal flu. Serum Institute's products are exported to over 140 countries, and the company claims that one out of every two children immunised in the world has received a Serum Institute vaccine.

The other two companies are Panacea Biotech and Bharat Biotech. Delhi-based Panacea is a WHO pre-qualified supplier of a range of vaccines and has collaborations with international institutes. Its working on vaccines for anthrax, dengue, and Japanese encephalitis. Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech launched India's first indigenous pentavalent (five-in-one) 'Comvac-5' vaccine in March this year. What's unique about the vaccine is that it is the only Hepatitis B vaccine in the world to be manufactured without the use of cesium chloride, a heavy metal needed to precipitate proteins.

As a heavy metal, cesium chloride is a known cancer causing agent and the fact that Bharat Biotech found another safer way to purify its hepatitis-B antigen makes Comvac-5 even more special. There's a fourth company, Ahmedabad-based Cadila Pharma, which is collaborating with US-based Novavax, using Novavax's 'virus-like particles' technology. This technology cuts short manufacturing time. The buzz is that one company has already managed to grow the cell line, and is now engaged in scaling up production, a tricky operation, given the myriad variables in biologics manufacture. Today, we have to depend on imported vaccines to vaccinate health workers from swine flu. We pay handsomely to procure this vaccine. Countries that produce the vaccine use it domestically first.
Given this, it is crucial that an Indian pharma company develops a vaccine. May the best company win. And whoever wins, Indians are winners.

Steyn had had an 'adverse finding' against him during IPL 2 after he was found to have levels of morphine slightly higher than normal.Steyn, contracted with the Bangalore Royal Challengers, was on the bench for a big chunk of the IPL's second season thanks to a thumb injury and played only three matches.IPL commissioner Lalit Modi, meanwhile, said they were yet to receive any communication with regards to a failed test during the IPL. "No player tested positive during the IPL as per our dope-testing agency's findings. Our anti-doping agency has not given us any inputs that they had a failed dope test on their hands," said Modi. He added that Steyn's case was still at the procedural stage and that the IPL had not yet come into the picture.

Former England opener Marcus Trescothick can be coaxed to come out of international retirement to participate in the fifth Ashes Test at The Oval next week. England's innings and 80 run loss to Australia at Headingley has led to fans and ex-players clamoring for appropriate replacements such as Trescothick and Mark Ramprakash who are in top county form. Trescothick is the leading batsman in English first-class cricket so far this season with 1,130 runs from 18 matches at an average of over 78 with six centuries.

FITNESS TEST FOR SACHIN AND DRAVID

Indian players are undergoing fitness tests for the champions trophy. In the T20 world cup many players were injured and it led to the downfall. So the board is keen on conducting fitness tests for the players. Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid will be among the ICC Champions Trophy probables from West and South Zone who will undergo fitness Tests to be conducted by BCCI physio Nitin Patel. This is a routine test ahead of any series after a break," Cricket Board sources said today, adding North Zone players and others will undergo a similar fitness tests in Delhi's Ferozshah Kotla today.

Among the cricketers who would be tested tomorrow are Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma. The test results would be forwarded to the BCCI ahead of the national selection panel sitting at Chennai on August 16 to choose the final 15-member team for the September 22-October 5 tournament in South Africa and the squad to Sri Lanka for the September 8-14 triangular ODI series.

PONTING OUT OF T20 SQUAD

Ponting is left out of the t20 squad against England. Michael Clarke will take over as captain of Australia's Twenty20 team to play England after Ricky Ponting was given permission to go home after the last Ashes test. Ponting will return to Britain to take charge for the bulk of one-day international series but the selectors wanted to give him a rest as they start blooding younger players for next year's Twenty20 World Cup in West Indies.

Clarke's promotion is a further sign that he is being groomed to eventually replace Ponting as test skipper. Clarke is the current vice-captain of the test side and has been Australia's best batsmen this year, scoring two hundreds and averaging 89 in the Ashes. The selectors named separate squads for the Twenty20 matches and one-day internationals as part of their building process for the West Indies next year. Promising opener Phillip Hughes and paceman Stuart Clark failed to make either side while batsman Mike Hussey and pace bowlers Peter Siddle and Nathan Bracken made the one-day side but not the Twenty20.

INDIAN STUDENTS ATTACKED IN AUSTRALIA

Indian students are still attacked in australia. Two more Indian students were separately assaulted by a group of men in Australia. Gaurav Kakkar, a student of a hairdressing course, was attacked by a group of men on Friday when he was talking to his family in Punjab's Ferozpur from a local telephone booth. Mohit Mangal from Indore was attacked when he was on his way to a shopping mall in Sydney. Mohit was attacked from behind with a beer bottle on his head and beaten up with a baseball bat on his waist and leg.

Mohit, who works as a mall supervisor, had gone to Australia about two years back to pursue his study in BE.The attacks assumes significance as India's External Affairs Minister S M Krishna is currently on a visit to Australia to raise concern over the recent violence against Indian students in Australia. About the motive of these attacks, Krishna said: "By and large, I think there are so many other considerations which have led to this attack on Indian students."

"In India itself, we will have to take some measure like regulate unscrupulous agents to ensure students understand what is in store for them when they go abroad to study," he added.
Australian police told Krishna that the attacks had not been racially motivated and blamed Indian media for labelling the incidents as 'racially motivated'.

TEREE SANG - REVIEW

TEREE SANG

Today's isolated reality is not having of parental love. Not for the reason that parents do not wish for to, but because their focal point is not accurate. Parents are what's more busy with their commerce or profession leaving their kids in care of nannies or some even in creches. The result - brood grow up feeling that lack of love in addition to miss having their parents roughly when they require them the nearly everyone. Most kids go somewhere else in look into of love to fill than aching void while others rebel in different ways, for e.g., getting captivated on to alcohol or drugs.

If you look in the region of, this is closely what is amount today. This is what director Satish Kaushik is wearisome to describe in TEREE SANG, a story on the subject of a girl who misses her parents love. She has a reverie home as well as whatever a young woman of 15 can desire. But is that all she wants or is there unbelievable more she is tender for? Her father plainly tells her that he has sacrificed a lot to give her all the luxuries of life. But he has missed the boat. He was irritating to return his love with material contributions. All that the girl's ardor for is her parents' attendance. The product, she befriends a boy in her neighborhood, even though not in her association, in addition to is expecting. All hell breaks loose.

The girl's father a Richie rich legal representative threatens to sue the boy's father, a rickshaw driver. The kids run missing from home to produce their own love nest. Kudos to Satish Kaushik for tackling a sensitive subject, which most parents tend to sweep up under the carpet. The motion picture has an appealing first half but post hiatus, Kaushik takes too many cinematic liberties and dilutes the plot with unnecessary focus on boy and girl trying to make ends meet in their house in the mountains', a LOVE STORY, QYAMAT SE QAYAMAT TAK, as well as MAINE PYAAR KIYA. That is where he goes wrong. It was not desirable. Had those scenes been chopped, the film would have been much crisper in addition to the communication would encompass come out louder.
